This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Dynamic Pattern Matching on Encrypted Data With Forward and Backward Security
Pattern matching is widely used in applications such as genomic data query analysis, network intrusion detection, and deep packet inspection (DPI). Performing pattern matching on plaintext data is straightforward, but the need to protect the security of ...

In runtime verification, pattern matching, which searches for occurrences of a specific pattern within a word, provides more information than a simple violation detection of the monitored property, by locating concrete evidence of the violation. However, witnessing violations of some properties, particularly hyperproperties, requires evidence across ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Voltage Sags Matching to Locate Faults for Underground Distribution Networks
A voltage sags matching to locate a fault for underground distribution network is presented in this paper. Firstly the method identifies the faulted section by matching a voltage sags measured at the primary substation during a fault with pre-developed ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Matchings Avoiding Partial Patterns [PDF]
We show that matchings avoiding a certain partial pattern are counted by the $3$-Catalan numbers. We give a characterization of $12312$-avoiding matchings in terms of restrictions on the corresponding oscillating tableaux. We also find a bijection between matchings avoiding both patterns $12312$ and $121323$ and Schröder paths without peaks at level ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
