Automated Pattern Recognition in Load Profiles of Milling Operations

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015
Due to the introduction of an energy management system, a lot of existing manufacturing plants were equipped with energy measurement systems. With sufficient sample rates those retrofitted energy measuring systems could provide additional information beside active power and energy consumption.

Simple Real-Time Pattern Recognition for Industrial Automation

Proceedings of the 2017 International Conference on Industrial Design Engineering, 2017
Industrial automation often involves time-intensive operations on real-time inputs, and accuracy is critical to the functioning of the full industrial pipeline. While older methods are simplistic but inaccurate, newer methods are more accurate but often complex and time-consuming. In this paper, we achieve 100% accuracy using simple methods on an image

Automated sizing, counting and identification of zooplankton by pattern recognition

Marine Biology, 1984
A computerized system was developed to automate the analysis of zooplankton samples. Classification to major taxonomic group was based on discriminant analysis of morphological features. Images were generated either from preserved organisms or from silhouette photographs. The latter technique simplified large-scale sample storage.

Automated Detection and Interpretation of Earthquake Seismograms by Adaptive Pattern Recognition

1992
The measurement and interpretation of ground motion in seismograms is the primar source for our knowledge of the earth’s interior. As in other scientific areas, seismology has seen great improvements of its experimental facilities in the last decades.

The Automated Differential; Pattern Recognition Systems, Precision, and the Spun Smear

1981
Utilizing normal patient blood samples, two automated differential pattern recognition systems, the ADC-500 and the Hematrak 360, were compared in a duplicate study with the manual eye method, using spun and wedge smear preparations. The study showed a superior precision for the 500-cell differential, but occasional data points with spun smears were ...

Automated Discrimination of Gait Patterns Based on sEMG Recognition

2013
A general scheme of automated discrimination of gait patterns based on recognition of surface electromyogram of lower limbs is proposed to classify three different terrains and six different movement patterns. To verify the effectiveness of different feature extraction methods, time–frequency features such as RMS and MF, wavelet variance and matrix ...

Auditing as Pattern Recognition: Automated Analysis of Documentary Procedures

SSRN Electronic Journal, 1991
Most information systems analysis techniques focus on data: storage, processing and communication. While these aspects are important, there is a further level of analysis -- for the most part ignored -- that is potentially even more important from the organizational standpoint. This has to do with how organizational commitments are formed and executed.
