A RIGID PAVEMENT REHABILITATION DESIGN SYSTEM

Proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Pavements
This paper summarizes the development, use, and applicability of the new Texas Rigid Pavement Rehabilitation Design System, RPRDS. Like other pavement design systems, RPRDS makes use of the systems concept and incorporates a number of pavement design and analytical models into a computer program, RPRDS-1, for the generation, analysis, and comparison of

Rehabilitation Techniques for Stripped Asphalt Pavements

2002
Asphalt stripping is a fairly common form of distress for pavements in Montana, particularly for pavements that were surfaced with an open-graded friction course. Currently, the technique for rehabilitating these pavements involves the costly removal of most or all of the stripped material, prior to the placement of an overlay.

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF REHABILITATED FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS

Research Digest on Engineering Management and Social Innovations
Rapid urbanization and increasing traffic volumes have intensified pavement deterioration, demanding frequent rehabilitation and maintenance. Conventional flexible pavements often fail prematurely due to inadequate confinement of subgrade and base layers.

Evolving rehabilitation strategies for asphalt pavement

International Journal of Pavement Engineering, 2008
Strategies for rehabilitation of flexible pavements have traditionally included mill and overlay or reconstruction. Three new strategies for flexible pavement rehabilitation currently being utilised by the Nebraska Department of Roads include partial depth in-place recycling, full depth in-place recycling and full-depth reclamation.

Characterization of structural conditions for pavement rehabilitations

Construction and Building Materials, 2016
Abstract For concrete pavements it is critical to identify weak spots and locations with very poor load transfer efficiency and then to apply localized repairs before placing a structural overlay. Collecting a continuous deflection profile is the most efficient way to identify those locations.

EVALUATION OF CONCRETE PAVEMENT REHABILITATION IN PENNSYLVANIA

Proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Pavements
Concrete pavement rehabilitation (CPR) is an engineered system of pavement rehabilitation with the purpose to repair rather than to overlay the pavement. Typically, full-depth patching, grinding, subsealing, spall repair, and joint sealing are CPR treatments. These techniques have been used for several years with varying degrees of success. In order to

Structured Selection Problem in Pavement Rehabilitation

1991
This paper examines the application and major features of a structured selection problem — a knowledgeable selection from a finite set of possible solutions using a reasoning process — in the context of selecting pavement rehabilitation treatments. The general problem of structured selection, with its main modules, solution sets, condition sets and ...

REHABILITATION DESIGN FOR AIRFIELD PCC PAVEMENTS

Proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Pavements
This paper presents procedures for airfield pavement condition rating, evaluation, and rehabilitation design. The procedures are based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) which measures the pavement's structural integrity and surface operational conditions. The PCI is used worldwide by the U.S. Air Force and several other agencies.
