A Study of the FWD Deflection Characteristics of Composite and Sandwich Pavements
A study was carried out on the falling weight deflectometer (FWD) deflection data obtained from road pavements in the South Coast region of Queensland. The pavement structures consist of the conventional asphalt granular pavement, composite and "sandwich"

Pavements always play a predominant role in transportation. Health monitoring of pavements is becoming more and more significant, as frequently suffering from cracks, rutting, and slippage renders them prematurely out of service.

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Effects of Pavement Roughness on Rigid Pavement Stress
ABSTRACTPavement roughness causes pavement stress fluctuation along the road. However, the dynamic effects were not taken into account in most pavement design and studies. To investigate the influences of roadway roughness on pavement stresses, this study developed a coupled system consisting of a quarter-car model and an equivalent lump pavement model.

Substitutable Concrete Pavements: A Manual of Practice, August 2011
Developed as a more detailed follow up at a 2009 briefing document,Building Sustainable Pavement with Concrete, this guide provides a clear, concise and cohesive discussion of pavement sustainability concepts and of recommended practices for maximizing ...

One of the main types of distress in pavement structures is rutting, which may also reduce serviceability significantly. Most design methods typically attribute rutting to the asphalt layer alone, proposing that it can be managed by controlling vertical ...

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

The Fate of the Antioch Mosaic Pavements: Some Reflections
The paper offers a short memory of the spectacular investigations carried out from 1930 to 1939 in the area of the ancient Antioch, and also remembers the fate of the more than a hundred mosaic pavements uncovered and unearthed in that site.
