Correlations and fluctuations in Pb+Pb collisons

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2001
Results on two-particle correlations, deuteron production, event anisotropy and event-by-event fluctuations of p_T/ and K/ pi were obtained by the NA49 experiment in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A.GeV beam energy. The interpretation of the measurements is discussed in light of the search for deconfinement.

Unsupported radiogenic Pb in zircon: a cause of anomalously high Pb-Pb, U-Pb and Th-Pb ages

Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, 1984
Ion microprobe U-Th-Pb isotopic analyses of zircons from a granodioritic orthogneiss from the Napier Complex, Mount Sones, Enderby Land, Antarctica, have identified an unambiguous example of unsupported radiogenic Pb in a 3,950 Ma-old crystal. At one 40 μm spot on the crystal an unusually large heterogeneity in Pb content was found, the concentration ...

Surface electronic structure of Pb(001), Pb(110), and Pb(111)

Physical Review B, 1994
We report the results of surface electronic-structure calculations for the three low-index faces of elemental Pb. To our knowledge, these are the first calculations for the Pb(110) and Pb(111) surfaces addressing their electronic structure. The underlying bulk crystal is described by a realistic second-nearest-neighbor empirical tight-binding ...

The Pb–Pb and O–Pb Nuclear Spin Coupling in Ba(Pb,Bi)O3 Oxides

Journal of Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism, 2006
We report the 17O, 207Pb NMR and 17O–207Pb SEDOR study of superconducting BaPb1-x Bi x O3 (x 0.35) oxides. Inhomogeneous The results points to the formation of microscopically inhomogeneous distribution of the carrier density in metallic phase.

KS0andΛProduction in Pb-Pb Collisions atsNN<…

2013
The ALICE measurement of K(S)(0) and Λ production at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at √(s(NN))=2.76 TeV is presented. The transverse momentum (p(T)) spectra are shown for several collision centrality intervals and in the p(T) range from 0.4 GeV/c (0.6 GeV/c for Λ) to 12 GeV/c.

Oxidation of (Pb, Sn) and (Pb, In) Alloys

Journal of Electronic Packaging, 1990
The oxidation of (Pb,Sn) and (Pb,In) single-phase alloys and the Pb-Sn eutectic was studied using Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and a scanning Auger microprobe (SAM). The oxidation of the single-phase alloys results in a structure which has been called “an oxide inversion layer”, where the amount of solute in the oxide increases with depth into the

Photoresponse and barrier height of Pb-Pb oxide-Pb sandwich structures

Applied Physics Letters, 1975
The spectral dependence of the photocurrent in Pb-Pb oxide-Pb structures is investigated varying both the electrode thickness and the resistance of the junctions. The samples exhibit sign reversal of the photocurrent with changing photon energy hν. The effect is strongly controlled by the electrode thickness and direction of illumination.

U–Pb, Pb–Pb and Re–Os sulphide geochronology

2016
The U–Pb decay scheme is the most widely applied geologically robust geochronometer. Due to its unique attribute of containing two independent decay chains, starting from different parent isotopes and finishing with different daughter isotopes of the same elements, it is possible to cross-correlate the data obtained simultaneously to produce routine ...

Assessment of the Pb–Pb and U–Pb chronometry of the early solar system

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1999
Abstract An evaluation of early solar system chronometry by the Pb–Pb and U–Pb methods is provided. Specifically, three consequential factors are examined: procedure of age calculation, extent of terrestrial Pb contamination, and initial Pb isotopic composition.

Electrochemical behaviour of the cell Pb/PEO40. Pb(ClO4)2/Pb

Electrochimica Acta, 1989
The electrochemical behaviour of the polymer-based cell Pb/(PEO)40. Pb(ClO4)2/Pb has been investigated over the temperature range 20–160°C by means of impedance spectroscopy and dc polarization methods. The bulk resistance and the charge transfer resistance display a linear trend in an Arrhenius plot.
