Microbial Pb(ii) Precipitation: the Role of Biosorption as a Pb(ii) Removal Mechanism
The role of a metabolically independent lead removal mechanism in an industrially obtained lead-precipitating consortium was investigated. Cultures were prepared under anaerobic conditions for 24 hours in batch reactors starting with 20 g L-1 tryptone ...

Arabidopsis ACBP1 overexpressors are Pb(II)-tolerant and accumulate Pb(II) [PDF]
In our recent paper in the Plant Journal, we demonstrated that Arabidopsis thaliana acyl-CoA-binding protein ACBP1 binds lead [Pb(II)], its mRNA is induced by Pb(II)-treatment and transgenic Arabidopsis overexpressing ACBP1 are conferred Pb(II) tolerance and accumulate Pb(II).

A Review on Spectrometer of Pb(II) in Water [PDF]
Heavy metals have many characteristics such as susceptible to bio-accumulation, ecological amplification effect, and high toxicity and so on. Heavy metal pollution in water not only destroys the ecological environment, but also threat to human health and life seriously.

Zn(ii), Cd(ii) and Pb(ii) complexation with pyridinecarboxylate containing ligands [PDF]
Herein, we report the coordination properties towards Zn(ii), Cd(ii) and Pb(ii) of two hexadentate ligands containing pyridinecarboxylate groups with ethane-1,2-diamine (bcpe) or cyclohexane-1,2-diamine (bcpc) backbones. The X-ray crystal structures of [Zn(bcpe)], [Cd(bcpe)] and [Cd(bcpc)] show hexadentate binding of the ligand to the metal ions, with ...

Electrical conductivity in Pb(II)- and Na(I)-Pb(II)-β″-alumina
Abstract Pb(II)- β ″-alumina, Pb 0.83 Mg 0.67 Al 10.33 O 17 , is a divalent isomorph of the well-known fast ion conductor, Na(I)- β ″-alumina, and is distinguished by having the highest ionic conductivity of the known divalent β ″-aluminas. The electrical properties of this compound are extremely sensitive to the presence of water.
