EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Multivariate Assessment of Gomaspan Reservoir Water Quality in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan Region [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science
Reservoir water quality in semi-arid catchments is shaped by short, intense runoff pulses and early impoundment effects. This study uses a mix of physicochemical and biological water quality measures to assess the water quality of the Gomaspan reservoir ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Effect of carnosine synthesis precursors in the diet on jejunal metabolomic profiling and biochemical compounds in slow-growing Korat chicken

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2023
: The slow-growing Korat chicken (KR) has been developed to provide an alternative breed for smallholder farmers in Thailand. Carnosine enrichment in the meat can distinguish KR from other chicken breeds.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

A Study on Use of Plastic Coated Aggregates (PCA) in Bituminous Concrete Mixes of Flexible Pavement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2018
The continuous increase in road traffic and heavy loading in combination with insufficient maintenance due to paucity of funds has resulted in deterioration of road network in India. To improve this proper maintenance, effective and improved roadway design, use of better quality materials and use of effective and modern construction techniques should ...
