Using a Generalized Linear Mixed Model to Study the Configuration Space of a PCA+LDA Human Face Recognition Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A generalized linear mixed model is used to estimate how rank 1 recognition of human faces with a PCA+LDA algorithm is affected by the choice of distance metric, image size, PCA space dimensionality, supplemental training, and the inclusion of test subjects in the training data.

From PCA to ICA.

open access: yes, 2012
The plots show the mutual information between each correlation source and the neuronal output firing after learning as in Fig. 6D–F. The neuron is stimulated by pools that mix three correlation sources as in Fig. 5.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

MATLAB Based Realtime Face Recognition for Attendance Monitoring using PCA

open access: yes, 2018
Face acknowledgment is a testing issue because of variety in demeanor, posture, brightening and maturing and so on. The presented paper basically deals with the working of face recognition system using Principal Component analysis (PCA).

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Posterior Cortical Atrophy in the Asia‐Pacific: A Report From the PCA Asian Workgroup

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) is a distinct dementia syndrome primarily affecting spatial abilities and visual processing. It is associated with degeneration in the posterior part of the brain. PCA is subclassified into PCA‐pure and PCA‐plus syndromes based on consensus criteria.

The Evaluation and Prediction of Flame Retardancy of Asphalt Mixture Based on PCA-RBF Neural Network Model

open access: yes
Warm mix flame retardant asphalt mixture can reduce the energy dissipation and harmful gas emissions during asphalt pavement construction, as well as mitigate the adverse effects of road fires. For this, this paper studies the design and performance of a
