PCCI combustion in an optically accessible engine using reference fuels
2011To be able to measure PCCI combustion in an optically accessible engine, a heavy duty engine setup is equipped with an advanced common rail injection system. The engine is synchronized with a high speed camera and operated in burst fired mode to avoid overheating and thermal stress on the sapphire windows.
