Robust Confidence Intervals for Process Capability Index Based on Cost and Loss Functions With Bootstrap Enhancement

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Process capability indices (PCIs) are commonly used to evaluate a process's performance in relation to the standards. Greater PCIs do not necessarily translate into lower rejection rates, even though they do indicate a higher level of process quality. Thus, a loss‐ and cost‐based PCI is a better way to measure process capability.

Exploring New Chemical Paths in Quantum AI: Preliminary Accomplishments and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
Two new strategies derived from Chemical AI to promote the advancement of sustainable quantum technologies are presented and discussed. The first strategy relies on the chemical implementation of molecular fuzzy sets, which are quantum mixed states associated with chemical microheterogeneous systems. The second strategy relies on photochromic compounds

Fast Small‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering Tensor Tomography: An Outlook into Future Applications in Life Sciences

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
This study reveals the future potential of SAXS tensor tomography at macromolecular X‐ray crystallography beamlines and life sciences applications. A new standard in fast data acquisition is set, allowing for up‐to 10x higher throughput. The measurements show mineralised collagen fibrils within the incus bone of the human auditory ossicle.

Tailorable Nanoparticles for Magnetic Water Cleaning of Polychlorinated Biphenyls

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are human‐made persistent organic pollutants omnipresent in the earth's hydrosphere, which are reported hazardous to humans as well as wildlife. This study presents surface functionalized magnetic nanoparticles that can remove such contaminants from water with an adjustable preference for most concerning compounds ...
