Hybrid D-PCM, A Combination of PCM and DPCM
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978After a short review of the basic principles of PCM and DPCM coding it is shown that combining the two methods in one coding system results in a combination of some favorable properties. The hybrid D-PCM system combines the bit-rate reduction of DPCM with a low error sensitivity.

A PCM/ADM and ADM/PCM code converter
IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1979In this paper a bidirectional code converter system that converts PCM to ADM and ADM to PCM directly in the digital domain is studied. The particular coding schemes chosen for study are the μ-255 PCM with the rate of 64 kbits/s and the continuously variable slope delta modulation (CVSD) with 32 kbits/s.
