Brain Research Bulletin, 1984Effects of acute and chronic administration of phencyclidine (PCP) on auditory evoked potentials (AEPs) were studied in rhesus monkeys with encephalic electrodes permanently implanted. AEPs were evoked by single clicks (1.0 pps in frequency) generated by an externally triggered audiomonitor.

Effects of acute and chronic administration of phencyclidine (PCP) on EEG activities and gross behavior were studied in monkeys with electrodes implanted in the brain. Administration of PCP (2.0 or 4.0 mg/kg i.v.) in monkeys produced a biphasic pattern of inhibition and excitation of behavior during 6-8 h observation period.
