The enhanced immune response of PCV-2 vaccine using Rehmannia glutinosa polysaccharide liposome as an adjuvant

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2016
Liposomes, one kind of vaccine adjuvants, have been demonstrated as effective adjuvants and vaccine delivery system. Immunization against PCV-2 has been studied intensely and found to be the most effective strategy for protecting pigs against PCV-2 infection.

Genetic typing of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2) isolates from Slovakia

Research in Veterinary Science, 2011
Of 120 clinical specimens obtained from pigs bred on 28 PMWS-affected farms in Slovakia, porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2) was detected by single PCR in 77 samples. A short 224 bp fragment of ORF2 was used for preliminary grouping of isolates by phylogenetic analysis.

PCV‐2 genotype definition and nomenclature

Veterinary Record, 2008
SIR, — To date, at least three different phylogenetic groups of porcine circo-virus type 2 (pcv-2) have been recognised ([Gagnon and others 2007][1], [Dupont and others 2008][2], [Grau-Roma and others 2008][3], [Timmusk and others 2008][4]).

Characterisation of PCV-2 isolates from Spain, Germany and France

Virus Research, 2000
The new isolated circovirus variant PCV-2 is discussed to be the etiological agent of a new emerging swine disease with a variable morbidity and high lethality, postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS). PMWS has been diagnosed in North America and West Europe.

Benefits of PCV‐2 vaccination in pigs

Veterinary Record, 2015
ANIMAL health remains under constant threat from exotic and emerging diseases. In Northern Europe, the emergence of Schmallenberg virus (SBV) in 2011 provided a particularly dramatic example of this (Beer and others 2013), but there are many other diseases to consider.

Oral vaccination with the porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV‐2) capsid protein expressed byLactococcus lactisinduces a specific immune response against PCV‐2 in mice

Journal of Applied Microbiology, 2019
Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) can cause postweaning, multisystemic wasting syndrome in pigs, which leads to enormous losses in the swine industry worldwide. Here, a genetically engineered Lactococcus strain expressing the main protective antigen of PCV2, the Cap protein, was developed to act against PCV2 infection as an oral vaccine.Expression of ...

Vaccination of sows reduces the prevalence of PCV‐2 viraemia in their piglets under field conditions

Veterinary Record, 2012
The objectives of this study were to further understand vertical transmission of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV‐2) and the effect of dam vaccination on PCV‐2 viraemia in newborn piglets. Randomly selected sows from each of two breeding herds were designated as non‐vaccinated or vaccinated groups.

Virus Location and Lymphocyte Apoptosis in Lymph Nodes of Piglets Infected with PCV-2

Agricultural Sciences in China, 2008
The present study has been performed to understand the location of the virus, type of apoptotic cells, and their relation to lymph nodes of piglets infected with porcine circovirus type II (PCV-2). Nine 32-day-old conventional piglets free of infection with PCV-2 were used, and distributed into three groups: control group (n = 3), piglets inoculated ...
