Genetic studies on diversity and variability in dolichos bean (Lablab purpureus L.)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2021
The field experiment was carried out by using twenty-six field bean genotypes to study the genetic divergence and genetic variability parameters. The characters studied were days to 50 per cent flowering, days to maturity, plant height, the number of

Optimum timing for assessing phenotypic resistance against gastrointestinal nematodes in Pelibuey ewes

open access: yesHelminthologia, 2023
The objective was to identify the optimal stage of production to evaluate the resistance of Pelibuey ewes against gastrointestinal nematodes (GIN). Faecal egg count (FEC) was used to classify the ewes as resistant, sensible or intermediate against GIN ...

TERC Variants Associated with Short Leukocyte Telomeres: Implication of Higher Early Life Leukocyte Telomere Attrition as Assessed by the Blood-and-Muscle Model

open access: yesCells, 2020
Short leukocyte telomere length (LTL) is associated with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Mendelian randomisation studies, using single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with short LTL, infer a causal role of LTL in ASCVD.

Efficacy and Effectiveness of the PCV-10 and PCV-13 Vaccines Against Invasive Pneumococcal Disease [PDF]

open access: yesPediatrics, 2020
CONTEXT: Pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) (pneumococcal 13-valent conjugate vaccine [PCV-13] and pneumococcal 10-valent conjugate vaccine [PCV-10]) are available for prevention of pneumococcal infections in children.

PCV chemotherapy for recurrent glioblastoma multiforme [PDF]

open access: yesNeurology, 2001
The authors evaluated response, time to progression (TTP), survival, prognostic factors, and toxicity in 63 patients with a recurrent glioblastoma multiforme treated with procarbazine, lomustine, and vincristine (PCV) chemotherapy. Complete and partial response was observed in two (3%) and five patients (8%).

Genetic analysis of polygenic traits in maize

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2023
Maize is one of the important cereals in the world. It is a good source of carbohydrates (70-87%) and protein (6-13%). To develop a high-yielding variety of any crop, heritability and genetic advance are important selection parameters for the ...

Porcine circovirus 3 is highly prevalent in serum and tissues and may persistently infect wild boar (Sus scrofa scrofa) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Porcine circovirus 3 (PCV‐3) prevalence has been minimally investigated in wild boar; dynamics of infection and viral tissue distribution are currently unknown.

Cost-effectiveness analysis of replacing the 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) with the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) in Brazil infants

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2021
Brazil currently has a 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) pediatric national immunization program (NIP). However, in recent years, there has been significant progressive increases in pneumococcal disease attributed to serotypes 3, 6A, and ...

Feline primary erythrocytosis: a multicentre case series of 18 cats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A retrospective multicentre case series of feline primary erythrocytosis (PE) was evaluated. The aim was to gain better understanding of disease presentation and progression to guide management and prognostication. Case records were assessed for evidence

Impact after 10-year use of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine in the Brazilian national immunization program: an updated systematic literature review from 2015 to 2020

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2022
In 2010, a 10-valent pneumococcal non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae protein D conjugate vaccine (PHiD-CV) was introduced in the Brazilian national immunization program; the 3 + 1 dose schedule was replaced by a 2 + 1 dose schedule in 2016.
