Effects of Transition Metals (TM = Nb, Ta, and Zr) on Thermodynamic and Electronic Properties of Advanced (Th1−xTMx)C (x = 0.1 and 0.2) Fuels: A First‐Principles Study

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
First‐principles study reveals Zr‐doped ThC maintains superior thermal conductivity and rigidity; Ta‐doping induces structural softening, whereas Nb enhances covalent bonding. These atomic‐scale insights guide the design of advanced thorium‐based nuclear fuels with tailored thermomechanical properties.

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1697-1716, April 2025.
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

Studies on the biology of peach rust (Tranzschelia pruni-spinosaePers.) in New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research, 1958
Summary Peach rust, Tranzschelia pruni-spinosae, is of world-wide distribution. It exists in all the fruit-growing districts of New Zealand. In New Zealand, pycniosori and aecidiosori occur only on Anemone: uredosori and te1eutosori are found on peaches and other stone fruits. The anemone, in New Zealand, is not important in spreading the disease.

The TaMADS2‐TaTBL21 Module Enhances Wheat Resistance to Stripe Rust by Activating TaGKL‐Mediated Immunity

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Wheat stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici, Pst) poses a catastrophic threat to global food security. While MADS‐box transcription factors regulate development and abiotic stress, their roles in plant‐pathogen immunity remain enigmatic.

Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Mitigate Drought‐Enhanced Herbivore Performance in Maize

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 4, Page 2080-2094, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Drought events are becoming increasingly frequent and intense, posing major challenges to crop productivity. Beyond direct water stress, drought can indirectly affect plants by enhancing herbivore performance. While arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) have been proposed to alleviate drought stress and to enhance plant resistance to herbivory ...
