Seismic risk for Sumbawa Island based on seismicity and peak ground acceleration [PDF]
Abstract Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province, is one of the regions in Indonesia that has a relatively moderate to high seismic activity because the area is flanked by two earthquake sources. These two sources cause an area prone to earthquake hazards.

In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

20 Hz mechanical vibration induced A431 cancer cells' apoptosis without such effect on other healthy cell lines of L929 and C2C12. Lowered glucose consumption is observed specifically in A431. The expressions of ROS, HMGB1, and HSP1 levels initially increase and subsequently decrease in the cancer cell line, as opposed to L929 and C2C12, which ...

Recorded displacements in a landslide slope due to regional and teleseismic earthquakes [PDF]
Regional and teleseismic earthquakes can induce displacements along joints in a landslideinvolved rocky slope in Central Italy. The rarity of these effects is due to specific physical properties of the seismic signals associated with: (i) the energy ...

Vertical Seismic Effect on the Seismic Fragility of Large-Space Underground Structures
The measured vertical peak ground acceleration was larger than the horizontal peak ground acceleration. It is essential to consider the vertical seismic effect in seismic fragility evaluation of large-space underground structures.

Study on the Seismic Effect of the Interbedded Soil Layer in the Yinchuan Alluvial Plain
This paper presents a numerical analysis of two types of representative site profiles in the Yinchuan Plain under earthquake loading. The analyzed soil profiles, based on borehole investigations performed over the years, are used to explore the seismic ...

The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.
