Cosmology constraints from shear peak statistics in Dark Energy Survey Science Verification data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Shear peak statistics has gained a lot of attention recently as a practical alternative to the two-point statistics for constraining cosmological parameters. We perform a shear peak statistics analysis of the Dark Energy Survey (DES) Science Verification

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

An Effective Computational Ghost Imaging Based on Noise Estimation and Elimination

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
To improve the quality of ghost image, we propose an efficient computational ghost imaging method in this article. The primary idea is to estimate the noise value of the ghost image by analyzing and eliminating the source of the noise. The innovativeness

Steganography in RGB Images Using Adjacent Mean

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Steganography is the practice of hiding information or data in a seemingly innocuous cover medium, such as message, file, image, audio, and video. In the past decades, many approaches of steganography in images were proposed for various applications.

Performance analysis of peak signal-to-noise ratio and multipath source routing using different denoising method

open access: yesBulletin of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, 2022
The problem of denoising iris pictures for iris identification systems will be discussed, as well as a novel solution based on wavelet and median filters. Different salt and pepper extraction algorithms, as well as Gaussian and speckle noises, were used.

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Efficient method for DCT-domain image arbitrary downsampling

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2007
A novel approach to resize Images with m/n resizing ratio in the DCT domain, was proposed which expoits the relationship of DCT coefficients between m 2input blocks and n 2output blocks.Experimental results confirm that the scheme performs about 0.5dB ...

Zeros Removal with DCT Image Compression Technique

open access: yesJournal of Kufa for Mathematics and Computer, 2011
The discrete cosine transform (DCT) is a method for converting a signal into plain frequency components. It is extensively used in image compression. In this paper a new technique is proposed, namely ZRDCT (Zeros Removal with DCT) which is based on a ...
