Adaptive PTS approach for reduction of peak-to-average power ratio of OFDM signal

open access: yes, 2000
An adaptive partial transmit sequence (PTS) technique is presented for the reduction of the peak-to-average power ratio (PAP) of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

On the links between Peak to Average Power Ratio for conventional RF power amplifiers and Peak to Average Duration Ratio for switching mode power amplifiers

open access: yes, 2020
For conventional RF power amplifier (PA), the power efficiency depends on the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the input signal, or more precisely on the statistical distribution of the input signal amplitude.

Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction in OFDM system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a special form of multi-carrier modulation which is robust against the multipath effect, intersymbol interference (ISI) and high spectral efficiency.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Reducing the Peak to Average Power Ratio of LDS-OFDM signals

open access: yes2010 7th International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems, 2010
Low Density Signature-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (LDS-OFDM) has been introduced recently as an efficient multiple access technique. High Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is an important obstacle to multicarrier communication systems. This paper concentrates on the PAPR investigation and its reduction for LDS-OFDM signals. Specifically,

Peak-to-average power ratio of IEEE 802.11a PHY layer signals

open access: yes, 2002
In this chapter we propose clipping with amplitude and phase corrections to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) signals in high-speed wireless local area networks defined in IEEE 802.11a ...

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the
