Atomic‐Scale Insights into Nanoparticle Exsolution at Dislocations in Dislocation‐Engineered Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 1, 2 January 2026.
This study reveals an atomic‐level correlation between bulk dislocations and the exsolution of surface nanoparticles through a novel approach for dislocation engineering in epitaxial thin films. Employing in situ scanning transmission electron microscopy, two primary reasons for the frequent nucleation of dislocation‐associated nanoparticles are ...

Redox‐Active Oxide/molten Salt Composites for Hybrid Thermal‐Chemical Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Redox‐active oxide–molten salt composites integrate sensible, latent, and thermochemical energy storage within a single particle. A porous Ca2AlMnO5+δ matrix infiltrated with eutectic NaCl/CaCl2 achieves a high‐energy density (267 kJ kg−1) over a narrow, 150 °C temperature window, offering a promising solution for high‐temperature thermal energy ...

Modulating Oxygen Transfer via A‐Site Doping in LaFeO3 for Coke‐Resistant Chemical Looping Steam Methane Reforming

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 24, December 13, 2025.
Promoting oxygen mobility within the oxygen carrier is essential for suppressing coke deposition during chemical looping steam methane reforming. A‐site doped LaFeO3 with alkaline earth metals facilitates bulk‐to‐surface oxygen transport, thereby maximizing syngas and hydrogen productivity while inhibiting carbon accumulation.

Sol–gel synthesis and sintering of submicronic copper molybdate (α-CuMoO4) powders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A sol–gel method was proposed to prepare copper II molybdate α-CuMoO4 powders. A gel was first obtained via the polymerizable complex method, using citric acid as complexing and polymerizing agent, dried at 120 °C and decomposed at 300 °C.

Multimodal Luminescence from LaAlO3:Eu3+ via Trap Modulation for High‐Temperature Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
LaAlO3:Eu3+ (LAO:E) phosphor exhibiting multimode luminescence enabled by multilevel traps spanning shallow to deep states is reported. These traps ensure controlled charge storage and release at room and elevated temperatures. Experimental studies and theoretical calculations reveal the trapping–detrapping mechanism, highlighting LAO:E as a promising ...
