Vascularized jejunal pedicle graft for duodenal reconstruction in a cat: Case Report

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
Reconstruction of large defects of the proximal duodenum can be challenging, as sacrifice of this region requires biliary re-routing ± partial pancreatectomy, resulting in considerable morbidity.

Importance of microstructure of lumbar pedicle in screw placement

open access: yesNational Journal of Clinical Anatomy, 2012
Background and objective: Any structural deviation of the pedicle may result in interference of the weight transmission mechanism and compression of neural structures.

A pedicled muscle flap based solely on a neural pedicle [PDF]

open access: yesMicrosurgery, 2009
AbstractWe tested the hypothesis that the intrinsic vascular plexus of the motor nerve could support viability in a rat hindlimb muscle flap. In a preliminary study, we examined the course and vascularity of the sciatic nerve, the peroneal nerve, and the peroneous longus muscle in the rat hindlimb via anatomic dissection, microangiography, and ...

Neutrophil‐Driven Cascade‐Targeted Nanocarriers Restore Mitochondrial Homeostasis to Ameliorate Renal Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A neutrophil‐mediated dual‐targeting liposome (NKN‐LNP) is developed to treat renal ischemia–reperfusion injury. The system enables spatiotemporally controlled delivery of NMN to injured tubules via MMP‐2/9 activation and KIM1 recognition, restoring mitochondrial function through NAD+‐SIRT3 signaling and preventing the transition from acute kidney ...

A radiological parametric comparison of low-grade lytic spondylolisthesis to degenerative spondylolisthesis – A retrospective approach to establish its dysplastic origin

open access: yesJournal of Craniovertebral Junction and Spine
Objectives: This study aims to compare low-grade lytic spondylolisthesis (LS) and degenerative spondylolisthesis (DS) radiologically. In addition, it seeks to identify underlying similarities between LS and DS.

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.
