Determination of the one‐electron reduced Wigner function for a molecular crystal

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section A, EarlyView.
The first reconstruction of an experimental one‐particle reduced Wigner function for electrons in molecular crystals is reported. It relies on an ensemble N‐representable model jointly refined from the X‐ray diffraction and Compton scattering data. The Wigner function provides a complete phase‐space representation of a quantum state.

Loanwords and Linguistic Phylogenetics: *pelek̑u‐ ‘axe’ and *(H)a(i̯)g̑‐ ‘goat’1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, Volume 123, Issue 1, Page 116-136, March 2025.
Abstract This paper assesses the role of borrowings in two different approaches to linguistic phylogenetics: Traditional qualitative analyses of lexemes, and quantitative computational analysis of cognacy. It problematises the assumption that loanwords can be excluded altogether from datasets of lexical cognacy.

‘Enthusiasts’ and ‘Fanatics’: The Decembrists as a Case Study in French Influence on Russian Culture, Emotions and Thought
