Microfluidic Platform for Multiparametric Profiling of Fibrin Permeability, Fibrinolysis, and Cell Invasion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper introduces a single‐channel H‐junction microfluidic assay that profiles fibrin's evolving function in repair and thrombosis by measuring, in one ∼3 µL gel, permeability, fibrinolysis kinetics, fibroblast invasion, and clot extension in real time.

Form removal aspects on the waviness parameters for steel sheet in automotive applications : fourier filtering versus polynomial regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Premium car makers attach great importance to the visual appearance of the painted car skin as an indication of product quality. The “orange peel” phenomenon constitutes a major problem here.

Oil spill sorption capacity of raw and thermally modified orange peel waste

open access: yes, 2020
Oil spill cases in the river Nile have been reported in the recent decade. Orange peel is a major waste of the food processing industry in Egypt, one of the six largest orange peel producers of the world.

Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.

Utilization of By-Products from the Fruit and Vegetable Processing Industry in Pasta Production

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Pasta is a product made from wheat semolina and water. Due to its composition and low glycemic index, it is an ideal product for fortification with additional nutrients. Most plant-based food by-products are rich in nutrients of interest, such as fibers,

Dynamics of stick-slip in peeling of an adhesive tape

open access: yes, 2004
We investigate the dynamics of peeling of an adhesive tape subjected to a constant pull speed. We derive the equations of motion for the angular speed of the roller tape, the peel angle and the pull force used in earlier investigations using a Lagrangian.

Elastic analysis of adhesion stresses for the design of a strengthening plate bonded to a beam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper presents methods for determining the elastic shear and peel stresses in an adhesive joint between a strengthening plate and a beam. Both closed-form and finite-difference solutions are given, allowing loading, temperature effects and plate ...

BEOL‐Compatible Liquid‐Metal‐Printing of Ultrathin 2D Oxide Memtransistors and Its Applications in Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin 2D indium oxide memtransistors are reproducibly fabricated via a scalable liquid‐metal‐printing process under ambient, low‐temperature conditions. The devices achieve robust, gate‐tunable bipolar memristive switching with high switching ratios at a BEOL‐compatible maximum processing temperature of 300°C. Governed by trap‐controlled transport,
