Modeling of the current limitations of PEFC

AIChE Journal, 2006
AbstractPEFC operation in the regime of limiting current has been considered. The phenomenon of oxygen depletion on the cathode is considered responsible for the highest current limits of the cell. The performance of the cell appears to depend strongly on the geometry of the gas diffuser and supply channels.

Relations of Water Management and Degradation Processes in PEFC

ECS Transactions, 2008
The life-time of fuel cells is one of the most critical issues for the commercialization of fuel cells. The decrease of the performance induced by the degradation of the fuel cell components together with failure which yield in the loss of the fuel cell functionality are the processes which limit the fuel cell life-time.

Portable PEFC generator with propane as fuel

Journal of Power Sources, 2000
Abstract Propane is a typical widespread fuel, which is often used for camping applications, because it can be transported easily and be stored in liquid form in pressure vessels for mobile and portable use. Propane as feedstock for hydrogen production offers a new way to a cheap fuel for fuel cells.

A System Analysis on PEFC-CGS for a Farm Household

2008
Since 2005, the Japanese government has had great efforts to promote PEFC-CGS (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell Co-generation System) to a household sector in order to mitigate CO2 emissions. Because of this situation, there is a plan in which 480 units of 1kW PEFC-CGS for a household sector will be installed. However, the heat supply through PEFC-CGS can

Development of High Durable Catalyst for PEFC

ECS Meeting Abstracts
PEFC is focused as highly efficiency and clean energy device to reduce emission of CO2. Pt/C and PtCo/C are widely used as cathode electrocatalyst for PEFC. But there are many issues required for catalyst such as low platinum and high durability for the widespread use of PEFC.
