Impact of polyplex micelles installed with cyclic RGD peptide as ligand on gene delivery to vascular lesions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Gene therapy is expected to open a new strategy for the treatment of refractory vascular diseases, so the development of appropriate gene vectors for vascular lesions is needed. To realize this requirement with a non-viral approach, cyclo(RGDfK) peptide (

Synthesis of tripodal catecholates and their immobilization on zinc oxide nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A common approach to generate tailored materials and nanoparticles (NPs) is the formation of molecular monolayers by chemisorption of bifunctional anchor molecules. This approach depends critically on the choice of a suitable anchor group.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Taguchi Parametric Optimization of Theobroma Cocoa-Derived Magnetite Nanoparticles: Synthesis, Pegylation, and Magnetic Hyperthermia Potential [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Water and Environmental Nanotechnology
Magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) have shown excellent heating responses under magnetic excitation, making them ideal for hyperthermia applications. Using cocoa bean shell (CBS) extract as a bio-reducing and stabilizing agent, we implemented the Taguchi ...

Enhancing the in vivo stability of polycation gene carriers by using PEGylated hyaluronic acid as a shielding system

open access: yesBIO Integration, 2022
To increase the in vivo stability of cationic gene carriers and avoid the adverse effects of their positive charge, we synthesized a new shielding material by conjugating low molecular weight polyethylene glycol (PEG) to a hyaluronic acid (HA) core.

Parsing Expression Grammars Made Practical

open access: yes, 2015
Parsing Expression Grammars (PEGs) define languages by specifying recursive-descent parser that recognises them. The PEG formalism exhibits desirable properties, such as closure under composition, built-in disambiguation, unification of syntactic and ...

A Case Report of Angioedema and Anaphylactic Shock Induced by Ingestion of Polyethylene Glycol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Introduction: We report one of few documented cases of a severe anaphylactic reaction with angioedema to polyethylene glycol (PEG).Case Report: The patient presented 30 minutes after onset of his symptoms and quickly developed hypoxia and hypotension ...

PEG–Peptide Conjugates

open access: yesBiomacromolecules, 2014
The remarkable diversity of the self-assembly behavior of PEG-peptides is reviewed, including self-assemblies formed by PEG-peptides with β-sheet and α-helical (coiled-coil) peptide sequences. The modes of self-assembly in solution and in the solid state are discussed.
