Cleavable PEGylation: a strategy for overcoming the “PEG dilemma” in efficient drug delivery

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2017
To prolong the circulation time of drug, PEGylation has been widely used via the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, thereby providing new hope for better treatment.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Gentrifizierungsprozesse im Frankfurter Ostend. Stadtpolitische Aufwertungsstrategien und Zuzug der Europäischen Zentralbank

open access: yesRaumforschung und Raumordnung, 2017
The centrally located Ostend district in Frankfurt am Main had provided space for the lower-rent housing segment in particular since the 1950s and was therefore characterised by below-average rent price and real-estate value trends. Because these trends

Cloning and characterization of four novel SnRK2 genes from Triticum polonicum

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2015
SnRK2 are plant-specific serine/threonine kinases that are involved in plant responses to abiotic stresses. In this study, four novel genes SnRK2s:TpSnRK2.11, TpSnRK2.2, TpSnRK2.5, and TpSnRK2.10 from dwarf Polish wheat (Triticum polonicum L.) were ...

Efflorescence of Ammonium Sulfate and Coated Ammonium Sulfate Particles: Evidence for Surface Nucleation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Using optical microscopy, we investigated the efflorescence of ammonium sulfate (AS) in aqueous AS and in aqueous 1:1 and 8:1 (by dry weight) poly(ethylene glycol)-400 (PEG-400)/AS particles deposited on a hydrophobically coated slide. Aqueous PEG-400/AS

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Enhancement of stress tolerance in cucumber seedlings by proanthocyanidins

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2017
Proanthocyanidins (PAs) are the main products of the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway in many plants. However, their biological function during environmental stresses in plants is rarely reported.
