Endocrinology of the Postpartum Period in the Pelibuey Ewe

The postpartum (PP) period in the Pelibuey ewe was studied. Laparotomies were performed on 14 ewes in the first year at d 10, 20 and 30 PP, and at d 10 and 20 PP in the second year on 17 ewes. Progesterone concentrations were determined in serum taken daily, from 4 to 7 d after parturition until estrus.
