Ideology and Agenda Setting in the High Court of Australia
ABSTRACT Does judicial ideology affect the process of agenda‐setting in the High Court of Australia? Applications for “special leave” to appeal are the primary method through which the High Court manages its caseload, analogous to certiorari at the U.S. Supreme Court.

On Matrix‐Based Cryptography Using Matrix Norm and Special Integer Sequences
ABSTRACT In this paper, a novel matrix‐based encryption approach based on the Affine Hill cipher is presented. The key matrix is constructed using the Narayana integer sequence, and the Frobenius norm of the key matrix is used as a scaling factor in the key construction.

Mersenne-Horadam identities using generating functions
The main object of the present paper is to reveal connections between Mersenne numbers $M_n=2^n-1$ and generalized Fibonacci (i.e., Horadam) numbers $w_n$ defined by a second order linear recurrence $w_n=pw_{n-1}+qw_{n-2}$, $n\geq 2$, with $w_0=a$ and ...

From Codes to Contexts: The Maturation of Historical Cryptology
ABSTRACT Over the past decades, the study of historical cryptology in Europe has evolved from a marginal, largely individual pursuit into a consolidated field of research with dedicated conferences, collaborative projects, and institutional research groups.

College Financial Aid Application Frictions
ABSTRACT We document that 11 percent of recent U.S. high school graduates did not apply for federal student aid due to difficulty in applying, mistaken beliefs, or lack of awareness. Not applying due to such application frictions negatively predicts college enrollment after controlling for other attributes.

Pell–Lucas diffractive lenses for trifocal multi-trap optical tweezers
In this work, we introduce a new family of trifocal diffractive lenses based on the Pell–Lucas number sequence. Two phase configurations are considered: binary-phase and kinoform-type.

Interpreting the Intensity of Vocal Emotions Across Cultures
ABSTRACT Intensity is a fundamental dimension of emotions that affects their perception. However, theoretical and empirical studies on intensity, particularly in the vocal domain, remain limited. Furthermore, research on the effects of emotional dimensions (e.g., arousal, valence, and basicness) on intensity ratings remains sparse.

ABSTRACT This study addresses a significant research gap in the literature by systematically reviewing and synthesizing the interplay between social dynamics, environmental changes, and organizational innovation. Although prior research has explored these dimensions in isolation, the integrative framework remains lacking.

GENERALIZATION OF PELL SEQUENCE AND PELL-LUCAS SEQUENCE, NEW RESULTS AND CIRCULANT MATRICES ASPECTS
Some generalizations of Pell sequence and Pell-Lucas sequence, namely, (k,h)-Pell sequence and (k,h)-Pell-Lucas sequence are considered in this paper. We obtain generating functions, some identities and formulas for the sums of a finite number of terms and consecutive terms, sums of squares of consecutive terms and alternating sums of consecutive terms
