Inégalités dans l’accès et dans le financement des soins au Tadjikistan : le rôle des stratégies informelles et des migrations

open access: yesRevue de la Régulation, 2020
Informal payments to healthcare professionals in post-soviet health systems persisted, despite the healthcare reforms. That is true in independent Tajikistan, where the increase in those payments has been associated with increased forgone care and the ...

Wind--Pellet Shear Sailing [PDF]

open access: yesActa Astronautica, 2022, 2022
A propulsion concept in which a spacecraft interacts with high-velocity pellets and the interstellar medium is proposed. The pellets are slower than the spacecraft and are accelerated backwards as they are overtaken, imparting a forward acceleration on the spacecraft.

Monitoring soil moisture from middle to high elevation in Switzerland: set-up and first results from the SOMOMOUNT network [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2017
Besides its important role in the energy and water balance at the soil–atmosphere interface, soil moisture can be a particular important factor in mountain environments since it influences the amount of freezing and thawing in the subsurface and can ...

Pelleting properties and pellet quality of apple pomace [PDF]

open access: yesFood and Feed Research, 2015
Apple pomace (AP) is the main by-product of apple juice production. It is a residue after pressing of apples for juice extraction. AP is an organic material, with high moisture and sugar content, therefore its direct disposal on landfills or land spreading causes serious environmental pollution. One of the solutions for further exploitation of AP could

Thermal Modelling of the Torrefaction Process Using the Finite Element Method

open access: yesEnvironmental and Climate Technologies, 2021
This paper focuses on the thermal characteristic of the torrefied pinecone pellets. The resistivity heating system was used for torrefaction purposes. The torrefaction was conducted at 523 K for different holding times of 5, 10 and 15 minutes.

Modeling of carbon pellets disruption mitigation in an NSTX-U plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Single carbon pellet disruption mitigation simulations using M3D-C1 were conducted in an NSTX-U-like plasma to support the electromagnetic pellet injection concept (EPI). A carbon ablation model has been implemented in M3D-C1 and tested with available data.

Ultra-Rapid Freezing Preserves Morphofunctional Integrity and Fertilizing Ability of Epididymal Cat Spermatozoa

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2022
Vitrification and ultra-rapid freezing, which are more commonly used for oocytes and embryos, have recently been applied to spermatozoa in an attempt to make semen cryopreservation in field conditions easier compared to conventional freezing.

Multiple-isotope pellet cycles captured by turbulent transport modelling in the JET tokamak [PDF]

open access: yesNucl. Fusion 61 036042 (2021), 2021
For the first time the pellet cycle of a multiple-isotope plasma is successfully reproduced with reduced turbulent transport modelling, within an integrated simulation framework. Future nuclear fusion reactors are likely to be fuelled by cryogenic pellet injection, due to higher penetration and faster response times.
