Pelleting properties and pellet quality of apple pomace [PDF]
Apple pomace (AP) is the main by-product of apple juice production. It is a residue after pressing of apples for juice extraction. AP is an organic material, with high moisture and sugar content, therefore its direct disposal on landfills or land spreading causes serious environmental pollution. One of the solutions for further exploitation of AP could

Torrefaction of Spruce, Beech, and Oak Pellets in Order to Improve Calorific Value
Native spruce, beech, and oak pellets were treated by torrefaction. The torrefaction was performed without oxygen, in an electric oven, at temperatures of 170 °C, 190 °C, and 210 °C and treatment periods of 1, 2, and 3 h.

The Moisture Content of Sawdust Fuel Pellets at Different Drying Periods
The development of pellet fuel from biomass has a great opportunity because Indonesia is an agricultural country. Utilizing this biomass can increase economic value, minimize waste generated, and reduce emissions released into the environment.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Comparing Different laboratory Methods for Measuring the Feed Pellet Durability
The experiment aimed to compare different methods of measuring the Feed pellet durability through the effect of pellet die speeds and the particle size (mill sieve holes diameter). Feed pellet durability was studied in four different ways: pellet direct

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
