AN INTENSIVE CULTURE SYSTEM FOR PENAEID SHRIMP
Proceedings of the annual meeting - World Mariculture Society, 1974ABSTRACTA shrimp production module was constructed on a pilot scale at Corpus Christi, Texas and operated on a demonstration basis from 21 April through 10 November, 1973. The unit, consisting of three adjacent ponds of 0.05 ha (nursery), 0.1 ha (intermediate) and 0.2 ha (grow‐out) through which shrimp were rotated as they grew, provided a better ...

Penaeid shrimp brachyury: sequence analysis and expression during gastrulation
Development Genes and Evolution, 2018Gastrulation occurs by a variety of morphogenetic movements, often correlated with diverse expression of the T-box transcription factor Brachyury (Bra). Bra may be expressed in ectoderm, mesoderm, or endoderm, but its role in cell fate specification or regulation of gastrulation movements has not been studied in the development of crustaceans.

Male and Female Reproduction in Penaeid Shrimps
2008This chapter shows that the term “shrimp” is synonymous with “penaeid shrimp” and the new species names will be used even when referring to older literature. The importance of the gelatinous layer to captive breeding is greater than one may initially assume.
