Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.

A Qualitative Analysis of Patient Perspectives and Preferences in Lupus Management to Guide Lupus Guidelines Development

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective A patient‐centered approach for chronic disease management, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), aligns treatment with patients’ values and preferences, leading to improved outcomes. This paper summarizes how patient experiences, perspectives, and priorities informed the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2024 Lupus Nephritis (LN)

Flow and temperature fluctuation mechanism in a downward branch pipe with a closed end (4th. report, Influence of inner diameter on penetration depth and fluctuation characteristics)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
Hot water in a main pipe flows into a branch pipe and forms a thermally stratified layer with cold water at a bent section. Fluctuation of the thermally stratified layer may initiates thermal fatigue crack in the branch pipe.

A Predictive Depth of Penetration Model for Abrasive Waterjet Cutting of Polymer Matrix Composites

open access: yes, 2002
A common defective phenomenon in abrasive waterjet (AWJ) cutting of layered materials such as polymer matrix composites is delamination which occurs only when the jet is unable to cut through the workpiece.

Depth of thermal penetration in straight grinding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Unlike the usual numerical FEM approach to determine the thermally affected layer during the grinding process, we propose a simple analytical approach to estimate the depth of thermal penetration. For this purpose, the one-dimensional definition of depth
