Analysis of the Shaft Resistance of Nondisplacement Piles in Sand

open access: yes, 2008
The paper examines, using numerical modelling, the problem of the limit shaft resistance of non-displacement piles installed in sands. The modelling makes use of an advanced, two-surface-plasticity constitutive model.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Water and chloride ion penetration resistance of highstrength ultra lightweight cement composite

open access: yes, 2012
Durability is a significant issue to focus on for newly developed structural lightweight cement composite (ULCC). This paper presents an experimental study to evaluate the resistance of ULCC to water and chloride ion penetration.

The classification of penetration resistance of soil in interrow of vineyards in relation to technological procedure

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2007
There is registered approximately 18 600 ha of intensive vineyards in this time in CZ. The intensive viticulture production is represent with high parts of working operations practise by the help of mechanization.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Static penetration resistance of soils

open access: yes, 1973
Model test results were used to define the failure mechanism associated with the static penetration resistance of cohesionless and low-cohesion soils. Knowledge of this mechanism has permitted the development of a new analytical method for calculating ...

Design, construction and testing of an ascending micropenetrometer to measure soil crust resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The increasing world population is putting pressure on global food production. Agriculture must meet these growing demands by increasing crop yields.

Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Soil Penetration Resistance of Recultivated Soil

open access: yes, 2018
This article examines changes in the spatial distribution of soil penetration resistance in ordinary chernozem (Calcic Chernozem) and in the recultivated soil in 2012 and 2014.
