Hydrogen Sulfide Protects Erectile Function Through Stimulation of Antioxidant Defense in the Corpus Cavernosum: Insights From SG1002 Administration and Cystathionine γ‐Lyase Knockout

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 15, 15 August 2025.
Chronic consumption of a western diet suppressed corpus cavernosum cystathionine γ‐lyase (CSE) protein content and H2S production and was associated with elevated penile reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and impaired erectile function. CSE knockout mice demonstrate impaired erectile function, elevated penile ROS levels, and suppressed corpus ...

Long‐Term Outcome of Fanconi Anemia Patients From the Italian Registry on Behalf of the Marrow Failure Study Group of the AIEOP (Italian Association for Pediatric Haematology‐Oncology)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 100, Issue 8, Page 1387-1396, August 2025.
ABSTRACT We analyzed 193 Fanconi anemia patients from the Italian Registry, focusing on hematological outcome, cancer risk, and mortality, both in transplanted (n = 130, 67.4% of the cohort) and non‐transplanted (n = 63, 36.6% of the cohort) patients. After a median follow‐up of 7 years, almost all patients developed cytopenia that was more frequent in

Nationwide Genomic Data Analysis of Japanese Prostate Cancer Patients From C‐CAT Database

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 15, August 2025.
This study analyzed genomic data from 2634 Japanese patients with advanced prostate cancer using the C‐CAT database, revealing frequent alterations in genes such as TP53, BRCA2, and AR. Key mutations, particularly in TP53 and pathways like PI3K and MYC signaling, were linked to poorer survival, underscoring the importance of population‐specific genomic

Recurrent Scrotal Fibroepithelial Polyp in a 7‐Month‐Old Infant: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Scrotal fibroepithelial polyps (FEPs) in infants are extremely rare and can be misdiagnosed as common skin conditions. Complete surgical excision is essential to prevent recurrence, as incomplete removal leads to regrowth. Adjunctive electrocautery is effective in eliminating residual polyp tissue, reducing recurrence risk, and ensuring ...

Two New Species of Ochotona (Mammalia, Lagomorpha) From Xizang, China

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2025.
During small mammals faunal surveys in Xizang conducted in 2003, 2023, and 2024, we collected two unidentifiable taxa of Ochotona. Phylogenetic analyses based on both mitochondrial and nuclear gene sequences resolve these specimens as distinct clusters within the O. macrotis and O. forresti species groups.
