A Biomimetic Nanoparticle System Intercepts and Degrades Thrombospondin‐1 to Restore Vascular Homeostasis After Ischemic Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TAX2‐NPs capture extracellular TSP‐1 in the injured liver and promote its macrophage‐mediated autophagic degradation. This process blocks TSP‐1/CD47 signaling, restores VEGFR2‐AKT activity, preserves endothelial function, and mitigates hepatic ischemia‐reperfusion injury.

Prevention of Procaine Convulsions by Presidon and Sodium Pentobarbital

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1950
SummaryPresidon and pentobarbital administered intraperitoneally, prevent the convulsions produced by procaine in dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and mice.Presidon confers protection against the convulsive effects of procaine at one-fourth to one-third the hypnotic dose, whereas the protective dose of pentobarbital is from one-half to the full hypnotic ...

A Viscous DES‐AAV‐Foxo1 Delivery System With High Transfection Efficiency for the Treatment of Corneal Endothelial Dysfunction by Restoring Mitochondria‐ER Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High glucose triggers corneal endothelial dysfunction by impairing FOXO1‐mediated ITPR1 transcription, leading to disrupted mitochondria‐associated membrane (MAM) integrity and defective ER‐to‐mitochondria Ca2+ transfer. This study develops an innovative viscous DES‐AAV‐Foxo1 delivery system with enhanced transfection efficiency. This non‐invasive gene

WTAP‐Mediated m6A Modification Targets the LRP1‐Lipid Metabolism Axis to Regulate Joint Cartilage Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
WTAP drives cartilage regeneration by activating an LRP1‐dependent lipid metabolic program in macrophages, enhancing IL‐10 and TGF‐β secretion to promote chondrogenic differentiation. Leveraging this mechanism, virtual screening identifies LRP1‐targeting compounds that effectively stimulate cartilage repair, highlighting a druggable epigenetic ...

Effect of high-dose fentanyl on renal function in dogs

open access: yesSão Paulo Medical Journal
Our objective was to determine the effects of high-dose fentanyl on canine renal function (RF). We anesthetized with sodium pentobarbital (SP) 16 dogs, randomly divided into 2 groups: in G1, SP was given alone, and in G2, combined with 0.05 mg.kg-1 ...

The Effect of Sodium Pentobarbital on the Fertility of Fowl Spermatozoa

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1978
The effect of three levels of sodium pentobarbital in modified glycine-citrate extender on the preservation of the fertilizing capacity of fowl spermatozoa was tested. Extended semen samples were stored for 24 and 48 hr at 2 C before insemination.

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

Biosynthesis of Sciadonic Acid Derived from Gymnosperms with Anti‐Colitis Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes an efficient Yarrowia lipolytica platform for unusual sciadonic acid (SCA) production and assess the anti‐colitis efficacy in mice of SCA, supporting its potential as a novel therapeutic lipid. ABSTRACT Sciadonic acid (SCA), Δ5‐unsaturated fatty acid with anti‐inflammatory and lipid‐regulatory properties, is predominantly derived

Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Analysis Reveals a Metabolic‐Immune Axis Driving Aortic Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell and spatial profiling of 110 human thoracic aortic samples reveals a stromal–immune circuit driving aortic dissection. An elastin‐rich fibroblast subset is depleted with age and markedly reduced in disease, weakening aortic wall integrity.
