Inhibition of the enzyme phosphoenolpyruvate-carboxylase (PEPC) by different pollutants
Talanta, 1997The inhibitory effect of different pollutants on the enzyme phosphoenolpyruvate-carboxylase was investigated. For this enzyme, different procedures are described for determining the activity of the enzyme. Determination of the presence of the enzymatically-formed oxaloacetate was found to be more suitable for this purpose because of the higher ...

The aminopeptidase C (PepC) of Lactobacillus helveticus CNRZ32 was purified by anion exchange chromatography from cell free extracts of an E. coli DH5α clone overexpressing the Lactobacillus aminopeptidase. PepC was found to have a tetrameric structure in its native form with subunits of 50 kDa each, a pH optimum of 6.5 and maximum activity at 45 °C ...

Optical and electrophysical properties of Ag–PEPC nanocomposites
Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2006Absorption and luminescence spectra as well as the temperature dependences of electrical conductivity of polyepoxypropylcarbazole (PEPC) with Ag nanoparticles are studied. Polyepoxypropylcarbazole results in an additional stabilization of Ag nanoparticles. They cause essential PEPC photoluminescence quenching.

Since pepc gene encoding phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPCase) has been cloned from Anabaena sp. PCC 7120 and other cyanobacteria, the effects of pepc gene expression on photosynthesis have not been reported yet. In this study, we constructed mutants

Catalytic properties of the cysteine aminopeptidase PepC, a bacterial bleomycin hydrolase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1998PepC is a cytoplasmic thiol aminopeptidase widely conserved among lactic acid bacteria. PepC from Lactococcus lactis shares 35-38% identity with aminopeptidases of eukaryotic origins: the yeast and mammalian bleomycin hydrolases (BLMase). In this work we investigated the hydrolytic activity of PepC towards various substrates: bleomycin A2, aminoacyl-p ...

Role of PEPc Isoforms in Phosphate-Deficient Nodules
2008In soils, the concentration of available P for plants is normally very low, because most of the P combines with iron, aluminium, and calcium to form relatively insoluble compounds (Aono et al., 2001). Phosphate (Pi) deficiency is thought to be one of the limiting factors for nitrogen fixation (Aono et al., 2001) due to the high energy requirement of ...

Cu2O–PEPC Composite Based Pressure Transducer
Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, 2012In this study, Al/Cu2O–PEPC/Al pressure transducer was designed and fabricated by drop-casting the blend of Cu2O–PEPC microcomposite thin films of copper oxide (Cu2O) micropowder, (3 wt.%) and poly-N-epoxypropylcarbazole, PEPC, (2 wt.%) in benzol on Al substrates. The thicknesses of the Cu2O–PEPC films were in the range of 30–100 μm.

Activity of phosphoeno/pyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) for C4 photosynthesis is upregulated by light (reviewed in [1, 2]). The regulation is mediated by a specific protein kinase (PEPC-PK) that phosphorylates Ser near N-terminus (Ser-15 in the maize Ca-form PEPC). This phosphorylation is dependent on light intensity in Ca-plants [3].

On the mechanisms of photogeneration of charge carriers in PEPC-C60 composites
Physics of the Solid State, 2013Photogeneration of electric charge carriers at high strengths of the external electric field and the temperature of transition to the viscous-flow state (T visc) of thin PEPC-C60 composite films obtained by casting from a toluene solution have been studied.
