Measurement of pepsinogen group I in endoscopic gastroduodenal biopsies

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1990
Abstract A technique for determining pepsinogen group I (PGI) concentrations in endoscopic gastroduodenal biopsies is described and validated. This method has a good precision (intra-assay CVs 4.1% to 8.4%; between-assay CVs 4.6% to 9.3%), and analytical recovery is satisfactory (94% to 102%).

Seasonal fluctuations in pepsinogen secretion from frog esophageal peptic glands

open access: yes, 1986
The seasonal activity of pepsinogen secretion in the Rana catesbeiana was studied by use of peptic gland bearing esophageal mucosa mounted in a perfused double chamber.

Effects of atropine on synthesis and secretion of pepsinogen in the rat

open access: yes, 1960
Simultaneous measurements of gastric juice pepsin and stomach mucosal pepsinogen were made in groups of pylorus-ligated rats at intervals from 2 to 24 hours to examine the effects of atropine sulfate (20 mg/100 gm/8 hrs.) on pepsinogen secretion and ...

Mediation of muscarinic stimulation of pepsinogen secretion in the frog

open access: yes, 1985
The in vitro release of pepsinogen secretion by the isolated esophagus of the American bullfrog was studied with an improved model system. The tissue was mounted in a double chamber that preserves mucosal polarity and provides both control and test ...

Development of a Radioimmunoassay for Bovine Pepsinogen A

open access: yes, 2005
peer reviewedPepsinogen A is the most abundant zymogen found in blood, and its enzymatic measurement is used for the diagnosis of gastric lesions. The present study was conducted to develop a radioimmunoassay (RIA) specific to pepsinogen A in bovine ...

Cellular messengers of stimulants of pepsinogen secretion from isolated frog esophageal mucosa

open access: yes, 1986
The messenger roles of Ca2+ and cyclic nucleotides in the stimulation of pepsinogen secretion by three classes of stimuli [muscarinic (bethanechol), peptidergic (bombesin), and adrenergic (isoproterenol)] were studied in vitro using the peptic gland ...

Multiple forms of bovine pepsinogen : isolation and identification in serum from calves with ostertagiasis

open access: yes, 1987
By using fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) a new form of bovine pepsinogen has been identified. Compared with the previously isolated pepsinogen (PG I) the new pepsinogen (PG II) is less mobile on agarose electrophoresis, is eluted earlier from ...
