Serum Pepsinogen I as a Predictor of Stomach Cancer
Annals of Internal Medicine, 1980Among 7498 Japanese men who were examined from 1967 to 1970, 48 were subsequently diagnosed with stomach cancer and had premorbid stored sera available for serum pepsinogen I analysis. The median interval between serum collection and diagnosis of cancer was 44.5 months (range, 3 to 103 months).

Serum pepsinogen I levels in relation to pepsinogen phenotypes.
Progress in clinical and biological research, 1985Serum PG I levels were measured by an enzyme linked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA) in 567 blood donors and 171 patients from a routine gastroscopy program to study the relationship between PG I phenotypes and serum levels. In normal subjects no association was found between PG I phenotypes and serum levels.

Serum Pepsinogen I in Childhood Duodenal Ulcer
Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, 1987SummaryTo delineate possible genetic factors invoked in the pathogenesis of childhood duodenal ulcer (DU), serum pepsinogen I concentrations were measured in 14 patients and their parents. Sixty‐five normal subjects were simultaneously studied to determine normal values in relation to age. Hyperpepsinogenemia occurred in six of 14 patients and 13 of 28

Immunologic Studies of Human Group I Pepsinogens
The Journal of Immunology, 1971Abstract The antigenic relationships of the human group I pepsinogens (Pg 1 through Pg 5) to each other, to the group II pepsinogens (Pg 6 and Pg 7) and to the slow moving protease (SMP) were examined. Rabbit antiserum to a preparation containing Pg 2, Pg 3 and Pg 4 formed precipitin arcs of identity against Pg 1 through Pg 5, but did ...

Background/Aims: According to Correa's hypothesis, adenoma at stomach plays a role in gastric carcinogenesis as a precursor. Since endoscopic resection including endoscopic submucosal dissection for premaligant or cancerous lesion has been generally accepted as one of treatment options, endoscopist may have a chance to get the pathologic results ...

Genetic linkage relation of the pepsinogen Pg5 locus
Annals of Human Genetics, 1980SummaryLinkage relations between pepsinogen Pg5 and 28 genetic marker loci have been analyzed in Norwegian families. No strong hint of linkage was found. Linkage to Pg5 in males has been ruled out below 25% recombination for HLA and GPT, below 20% recombination for Rh, PGM1, ACP, Gc, MNSs, PGM3, and Gm and Pi, below 15% recombination for Hp, below 10 ...

Lansoprazole elevates the ratio of serum pepsinogen I v.s. pepsinogen II.
International journal of clinical pharmacology research, 1998In order to investigate the mechanism by which proton pump inhibitor increases serum pepsinogen levels, we evaluated the effects of ulcer location and IgG antibody against Helicobacter pylori on lansoprazole-induced elevations. Patients with endoscopically proven peptic ulcer received lansoprazole 30 mg/day for 6 or 8 weeks; pepsinogen I and II levels,

The Effect of Vagotomy and Antrectomy on Serum Pepsinogens I and II
Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1990Ninety-seven consecutive patients with gastric surgery for peptic ulcer were studied; 86 had duodenal ulcer (DU), and 11 gastric ulcer (GU). DU patients were surgically treated by proximal vagotomy, proximal vagotomy and pyloroplasty, truncal vagotomy and pyloroplasty, or truncal vagotomy and antrectomy. All GU patients were operated on by the Billroth

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay of serum pepsinogen I
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1987A hybridoma monoclonal antibody against human pepsinogen I was used to develop an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for pepsinogen I in serum. In the two-step competitive procedure using antimouse immunoglobulin F(ab')2 fragment coupled to alkaline phosphatase, the measurable assay range was 8-256 micrograms/l. No cross-reactivity with rat pepsinogen 1,
