Performance Evaluation of Audio Coding by Amalgam AAC and FLAC Audio codec using MDCT and INTMDCT Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications, 2019
The MDCT and IntMDCT Algorithm is widely utilized is Audio coding. By lifting scheme or rounding operation IntegerMDCT is evolved from Modified Discrete Cosine Transform.

Reducing Audible Spectral Discontinuities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper, a common problem in diphone synthesis is discussed, viz., the occurrence of audible discontinuities at diphone boundaries. Informal observations show that spectral mismatch is most likely the cause of this phenomenon. We first set out to ...

Embodying functionally relevant action sounds in patients with spinal cord injury [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Growing evidence indicates that perceptual-motor codes may be associated with and influenced by actual bodily states. Following a spinal cord injury (SCI), for example, individuals exhibit reduced visual sensitivity to biological motion.

Towards a new perceptual coding paradigm for audio signals [PDF]

open access: yes2003 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003. Proceedings. (ICASSP '03)., 2004
A new frequency domain approach to coding audio signals is introduced. The bit assignment strategy is aimed at reducing the perceived loudness difference between the original signal and the coded signal. As such it uses perceptual effects (spread excitation patterns), but does not directly invoke masking results.

Identification of Sparse Audio Tampering Using Distributed Source Coding and Compressive Sensing Techniques

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2009
In the past few years, a large amount of techniques have been proposed to identify whether a multimedia content has been illegally tampered or not. Nevertheless, very few efforts have been devoted to identifying which kind of attack has been carried out,

Fooling the eyes: the influence of a sound-induced visual motion illusion on eye movements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The question of whether perceptual illusions influence eye movements is critical for the long-standing debate regarding the separation between action and perception.

Perceptually Enhanced Bit-Plane Coding for Scalable Audio [PDF]

open access: yes2006 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2006
The MPEG-4 Scalable to Lossless (SLS) audio coding is recently being developed to provide a unified solution for high - compression perceptual audio coding and high-quality lossless audio coding. SLS provides efficient Fine Granular Scalable (FGS) coding from AAC core layer to lossless, and achieves reasonable perceptual quality at its scalable coding ...

Parametric Coding of Stereo Audio

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
Parametric-stereo coding is a technique to efficiently code a stereo audio signal as a monaural signal plus a small amount of parametric overhead to describe the stereo image.

Audio Watermarking for Security and Non-Security Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The digitization of audiovisual data is significantly increasing. Thus, to guarantee the protection of the intellectual properties of this digital content, watermarking has appeared as a solution.
