Bi2O2Se/Ta2NiSe5 Tunneling Heterojunction for High‐Performance, Polarization‐Sensitive, and Broadband Infrared Photodetector

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
An optimal dynamic balance between carrier lifetime and transit time is achieved in the Bi2O2Se/Ta2NiSe5 tunneling heterojunction, which simultaneously attains high responsivity (>103 A W−1) and a fast response time (≈5 µs). The specific detectivity can reach 3.75 × 1013 Jones at 633 nm and 1.8 × 1010 Jones at 1550 nm. Abstract New technologies such as

Effects of linguistic context and noise type on speech comprehension

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionUnderstanding speech in background noise is an effortful endeavor. When acoustic challenges arise, linguistic context may help us fill in perceptual gaps.

Are all meats substitutes? A basket‐and‐expenditure‐based approach

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the relationship among animal‐based meat and plant‐based meat alternatives (PBMAs) using a basket‐and‐expenditure‐based choice experiment. In particular, we examine whether animal‐based meat products are substitutes or complements with PBMAs.

Interactive Prompt‐Guided Robotic Grasping for Arbitrary Objects Based on Promptable Segment Anything Model and Force‐Closure Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A laser pointer‐guided robotic grasping method for arbitrary objects based on promptable segment anything model and force‐closure analysis is presented. Grasp generation methods based on force‐closure analysis can calculate the optimal grasps for objects through their appearances. However, the limited visual perception ability makes robots difficult to

Perceptual Noise-Masking with Music through Deep Spectral Envelope Shaping [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), IEEE, Apr 2025, Hyderabad, India
People often listen to music in noisy environments, seeking to isolate themselves from ambient sounds. Indeed, a music signal can mask some of the noise's frequency components due to the effect of simultaneous masking. In this article, we propose a neural network based on a psychoacoustic masking model, designed to enhance the music's ability to mask ...

Large Language Model‐Based Chatbots in Higher Education

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
The use of large language models (LLMs) in higher education can facilitate personalized learning experiences, advance asynchronized learning, and support instructors, students, and researchers across diverse fields. The development of regulations and guidelines that address ethical and legal issues is essential to ensure safe and responsible adaptation

Phase space methods and psychoacoustic models in lossy transform coding [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
I present a method for lossy transform coding of digital audio that uses the Weyl symbol calculus for constructing the encoding and decoding transformation. The method establishes a direct connection between a time-frequency representation of the signal dependent threshold of masked noise and the encode/decode pair.
