Oxychlorine Species on Mars: A Review

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 63, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Oxychlorine species (mainly perchlorate and chlorate) have been identified at multiple locations on the surface of Mars by both orbiter and in situ rovers. They have also been found in martian meteorites. Cl‐isotopes in meteoritic minerals suggest that an oxychlorine cycle has been operating on the martian surface for the last ∼4 billion years.

Re‐make, re‐model: evolution and development of vertebrate cranial lateral lines

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 100, Issue 6, Page 2237-2256, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Lateral lines are placodally derived mechanosensory systems on the heads and trunks of many aquatic vertebrates. There is evidence of lateral lines in the earliest known vertebrate fossils, and they exist in organisms with widely different craniofacial morphologies – including the presence or absence of jaws, external or internal nostrils, and

Ikelos‐Rating Scale: Validation of a Behavioural Severity Marker in REM Sleep Behaviour Disorder

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 6, December 2025.
ABSTRACT The Ikelos‐Rating Scale (Ikelos‐RS) is a new, expert‐interviewed and bedpartner‐reported severity marker assessing frequency and expression of isolated REM sleep behaviour disorder (iRBD), a precursor of clinical α‐synucleinopathies. This study aimed to validate the Ikelos‐RS in 180 patients with three‐night PSG‐confirmed iRBD (68.4 ± 8.3 ...

Thioether Synthesis via the Nickel‐Catalyzed Electrochemical Cross Electrophile Coupling of Aryl/Alkyl Disulfides and Aryl/Alkyl Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 22, November 28, 2025.
A nickel catalyzed electrochemical cross‐electrophile coupling approach for the base‐free synthesis of (un)symmetric (hetero)aryl and alkyl sulfides from organic halides and disulfides is described. The reaction is broadly applicable and tolerates water and air atmosphere. A formal cross‐electrophile coupling approach enables the base‐free synthesis of

pH–Dependent Luminescence of Self–Assembly Tb3+ Complexes with Photosensitizing Units

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 62, November 6, 2025.
An amphiphilic lanthanide complex with photosensitizer units forms stable self‐assemblies in aqueous ethanol (20 wt.% EtOH). The pyridyl group effectively works as both a photoantenna and a proton acceptor. Self‐assemblies of the Tb3+ complex exhibit pH–dependent luminescence under weakly basic conditions, rendering it promising for biological ...
