Minimal Percolating Sets in Bootstrap Percolation [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2009
In standard bootstrap percolation, a subset $A$ of the grid $[n]^2$ is initially infected. A new site is then infected if at least two of its neighbours are infected, and an infected site stays infected forever. The set $A$ is said to percolate if eventually the entire grid is infected.

An Efficient Approach of Predicting the Elastic Property of Hydrating Cement Paste

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2021
Although elastic properties of hydrating cement paste are crucial in concrete engineering practice, there are only a few widely available models for engineers to predict the elastic behavior of hydrating cement paste.

Percolation Effects In Electrical Conductivity Of Carbon Fibre Composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The effects due to percolation on the bulk electrical conductivity of Carbon Fibre Composites are studied in detail. To simulate the CFCs manufacturing process the fibres are placed randomly in the polymer matrix using Monte Carlo based simulation ...

Percolation and first-passage percolation on oriented graphs

open access: yes, 2021
International audienceWe give the first properties of independent Bernoulli percolation, for oriented graphs on the set of vertices $\Z^d$ that are translation-invariant and may contain loops.

高维空间上AB-渗流模型的一个引理(A lemma on AB-percolation models in high dimension)

open access: yesZhejiang Daxue xuebao. Lixue ban, 2000
This note gived another proof of asymptotic behaviors for AB-percolation model in Zd as d goes to infinity. The basic idea was to establish a relation between AB-percolation model in Zd and the classical percolation in V2 (one of partition sets of Zd ...

Percolation of single-walled carbon nanotubes in ceramic matrix nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The percolation of carbon nanotubes (CNT) in an electrical insulating ceramic is studied for the first time. The in situ synthesis of the CNT (0.2–25 vol%) by a CCVD route allows to achieve their homogeneous distribution in the spinel matrix.

Continuum percolation of porous media via random packing of overlapping cube-like particles

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2018
The pore configuration in porous medium is assumed to be the randomly distributed cube-like particles which can overlap each other in the periodic cubic domain, and the impact of particle characteristics on the percolation property of these cube-like ...

A contribution to the understanding of percolation phenomena in binary liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In the present work it was shown the important role of the Ei/E parameter in the characterization of polar liquids. It could be demonstrated that the application of the broad range dielectric spectroscopy together with the analysis of the quasi-static ...

Importance of seasonal and annual layers in controlling backscatter to radar altimeters across the percolation zone of an ice sheet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Radar altimeters are one of the main tools for measuring elevation changes across the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets and larger ice caps. A ground-based radar was deployed in autumn 2004 and spring 2006 in the percolation zone of the Greenland Ice ...
