Percolation of single-walled carbon nanotubes in ceramic matrix nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The percolation of carbon nanotubes (CNT) in an electrical insulating ceramic is studied for the first time. The in situ synthesis of the CNT (0.2–25 vol%) by a CCVD route allows to achieve their homogeneous distribution in the spinel matrix.

PERCOLATION TRANSITION AND TOPOLOGY

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology, 2017
A number of bidimensional random structures with increasing densities are simulated to explore possible links between Euler-Poincaré characteristic (EPC), or connectivity, and percolation threshold.

Trapping thresholds in invasion percolation

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2002
We give numerical estimates for the site percolation trapping thresholds for invasion percolation on various three dimensional lattices. We find that in most cases the thresholds for invasion and ordinary percolation coincide. However, for coordination numbers less than five the thresholds diverge.

Effect of carbon black on electrical and rheological properties of graphite nanoplatelets/poly(ethylene-butyl acrylate) composites

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2015
The effect of adding carbon black on the electrical and rheological properties of graphite nanoplatelets/poly(ethylene-butyl acrylate) copolymer composites produced via melt or solution mixing was studied.

A percolation-based micromechanical model for elastic stiffness and conductivity of foam concrete

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
Void morphology effect on percolation and even physico-mechanical performance of foam concrete is of great interest in the evaluation of service-life of civil and hydraulic infrastructures.

Percolation and Epidemic Thresholds in Clustered Networks [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
We develop a theoretical approach to percolation in random clustered networks. We find that, although clustering in scale-free networks can strongly affect some percolation properties, such as the size and the resilience of the giant connected component, it cannot restore a finite percolation threshold.

Predicting percolation thresholds in networks [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2015
We consider different methods, that do not rely on numerical simulations of the percolation process, to approximate percolation thresholds in networks. We perform a systematic analysis on synthetic graphs and a collection of 109 real networks to quantify their effectiveness and reliability as prediction tools.

Percolation in the Boolean model with convex grains in high dimension

open access: yes, 2023
International audienceWe investigate percolation in the Boolean model with convex grains in high dimension. For each dimension d, one fixes a compact, convex and symmetric set K ⊂ R d with non empty interior.

Hybrid Carbon Microfibers-Graphite Fillers for Piezoresistive Cementitious Composites

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Multifunctional structural materials are very promising in the field of engineering. Particularly, their strain sensing ability draws much attention for structural health monitoring applications. Generally, strain sensing materials are produced by adding
