Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Multiple threshold percolation in polymer/filler composites

open access: yes, 2011
Local variations in filler particle concentration and/or shape and orientation in static filler/polymer composites are modelled as distributions of percolation thresholds.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Influence of the Filler’s Size on the Percolation Behavior in the Polyethylene Glycol/Carbon Nanotubes System [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2015
The research of electric properties of the systems based on polyethylene glycol and carbon nanotubes (CNT) near-by the percolation threshold is done using the method of impedance spectroscopy.

Jamming and percolation of dimers in restricted-valence random sequential adsorption

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Restricted-valence random sequential adsorption is studied in its pure and disordered versions on the square and triangular lattices. For the simplest case (pure on the square lattice) we prove the absence of percolation for maximum valence V_{max}=2. In

Range effect on percolation threshold and structural properties for short-range attractive spheres

open access: yes, 2015
Percolation or aggregation in colloidal system is important in many fields of science and technology. Using molecular dynamics simulations, we study the percolation behavior for systems consisting of spheres interacting with short-range square-well (SRSW)

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Concurrence percolation threshold of large-scale quantum networks

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2022
The move to the quantum internet demands developments in communication networks that are based on quantum entanglement. The authors discuss the phenomenon of entanglement percolation in a quantum network presenting solutions to significantly accelerate ...

Nonlinear Electromagnetic Properties of Thinfilm Nanocomposites (CoFeZr)x(MgF2)100−x

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2023
The aim of this work is a comprehensive study of the effect of variable atomic composition and structural-phase state of (CoFeZr)x(MgF2)100−x nanocomposites (NCs) on their nonlinear electronic and magnetic/magneto-optical properties.
