Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

(Perfect) Integer Codes Correcting Single Errors

open access: yesIEEE Communications Letters, 2018
This letter presents a class of integer codes capable of correcting single errors. Unlike Hamming codes, the presented codes are constructed with the help of a computer.

Full rank perfect codes and alpha-kernels

open access: yes, 2009
A perfect 1-error correcting binary code C, perfect code for short, of length n = 2(m) - 1 has full rank if the linear span < C > of the words of C has dimension n as a vector space over the finite field F-2.

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Z2Z4-Additive Perdect Codes in Steganography

open access: yes, 2011
Steganography is an information hiding application which aims to hide secret data imperceptibly into a cover object. In this paper, we describe a novel coding method based on Z2Z4-additive codes in which data is embedded by distorting each cover ...

Electrically Readable Lateral Flow Assay Using Organic Transistors for Diagnostic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrolyte‐gated organic field‐effect transistors (EGOFETs) are integrated with lateral flow (LF) paper fluidics to create a reusable, portable, and low‐cost point‐of‐care (PoC) diagnostic test. The devices are validated for Human Immunoglobulin G detection, achieving high sensitivity (0.1 fm), selectivity, and reproducibility with rapid results in 20–

A novel method for encoding and decoding based on enhanced parity-check-concatenated polar codes

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2021
Polar codes have perfect coding and decoding performance as a kind of error correction code, which have become a standard coding scheme for 5G short code control channel. While the length of polar codes is short, its performance is not good enough.

Inverse Design of Amorphous Materials With Targeted Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
AMDEN is a diffusion model framework for the inverse design of amorphous materials with targeted properties. By incorporating Hamiltonian Monte Carlo refinement into the denoising process, the framework overcomes the challenge of generating thermally relaxed disordered structures.

Perfect codes in the graphs Ok

open access: yes, 1975
In this paper we consider the existence of perfect codes in the infinite class of distance-transitive graphs Ok. Perfect 1-codes correspond to certain Steiner systems and necessary conditions for the existence of such a code are satisfied if k + 1 is ...

When Poor Exciton Dissociation Limits Photocurrents in Organic Solar Cells: Why Low Offset Non‐Fullerene Acceptor Blends Can't Be Efficient

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...
