Development of interactive MRI‐based 3D visualization tools for neuroanatomy education in Latin America

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The study of neuroanatomy is fundamental in many scientific fields. Despite this, it is a challenging subject for students. As technology evolves, it is being increasingly incorporated into educational methods, including the teaching of neuroanatomy. Three‐dimensional (3D) visualizations are well suited for displaying neuroanatomy.

Beyond eCK: Perfect Forward Secrecy under Actor Compromise and Ephemeral-Key Reveal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We show that it is possible to achieve perfect forward secrecy in two-message or one-round key exchange (KE) protocols that satisfy even stronger security properties than provided by the extended Canetti-Krawczyk (eCK) security model.

Comparing the outcomes of the technology‐enhanced learning of sectional anatomy with and without preceding demonstrations: A study about the worked‐example effect in anatomy education

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The examination of anatomical cross‐sections can facilitate the understanding of spatial and clinical anatomy. Visualization technologies, with dynamic and interactive displays, can be used to learn sectional anatomy in a mostly self‐directed manner.

Efficient Construction of Infinite Length Hash Chains with Perfect Forward Secrecy Using Two Independent Hash Functions

open access: yes, 2014
213220One-way hash chains have been used to secure many applications over the last three decades. To overcome the fixed length limitation of first generation designs, so-called infinite length hash chains have been introduced.

Integration of the arts and biomedical engineering in innovative interdisciplinary anatomy education: The synthetic anatomy module

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The intersection of science and art has historically fostered innovation, yet the integration of creative arts into anatomy education remains limited. The Synthetic Anatomy module was designed to bridge anatomy teaching with creative design for bioscience and biomedical engineering students. This study evaluates the module's educational impact

Optimal power allocation for achieving perfect secrecy capacity in MIMO wire-tap channels

open access: yes, 2009
—In this paper, we investigate optimal power alloca-tion to achieve perfect secrecy capacity in Gaussian MIMO wire-tap channels. The number of antennas in the MIMO wire-tap channel is arbitrary at the transmitter, the intended receiver, and the ...
