Asymmetric perfectly matched layer for the absorption of waves [PDF]
The Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) has become a standard for comparison in the techniques that have been developed to close the system of Maxwell equations (more generally wave equations) when simulating an open system.

Computational Modeling of Geoelectrical Soundings using PML-FDTD
The Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method was applied in order to analyze the transient responses of geoelectrical soundings that use circular electric dipole (CED) as source over stratified formations.

Plasmonic–Diamond Hybrids: Tunable Optical and Thermal Response for Nanoscale Applications
Finite‐element simulations demonstrate that nanodiamond cores precisely regulate plasmonic coupling, absorption, electric‐field confinement, and photothermal heating in gold and silver nanoparticle clusters. By identifying interparticle spacing, particle number, core conductivity, and surrounding refractive index as key design parameters, this work ...

This study proposes an elastic wave reverse time migration (RTM) method to suppress multiple scattering noise in heterogeneous concrete. By effectively utilizing scattered wavefields, RTM enables high‐precision, robust imaging of sleeve grouting defects in prefabricated buildings, significantly outperforming traditional algorithms.

Numerical modelling of photonic crystal based switching devices
In the last few years research has identified Photonic Crystals (PhCs) as promising material that exhibits strong capability of controlling light propagation in a manner not previously possible with conventional optical devices.

Boundary waves and stability of the perfectly matched layer
We study the stability of the perfectly matched layer (PML) for symmetric second order hyperbolic partial differential equations on the upper half plane, with boundary conditions at y = 0.

A Highly Sensitive Gold-Coated Photonic Crystal Fiber Biosensor Based on Surface Plasmon Resonance
In this paper, we numerically demonstrate a two-layer circular lattice photonic crystal fiber (PCF) biosensor based on the principle of surface plasmon resonance (SPR).

Dipole‐Quadrupole Model and Multipole Analysis of Resonant Membrane Metasurfaces
Membrane metasurfaces, arrays of holes in a dielectric membrane, are appealing because they require no substrate and allow access to resonant near‐fields. However, developing a comprehensive theoretical description for them remains challenging. We introduce a semi‐analytical dipole‐quadrupole approach to analyze their resonant spectra at arbitrary ...
