On edge perfectness and classes of bipartite graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1996
We define a notion of dependence for the edges of a graph and derive a concept of edge perfectness. We give some examples of classes of bipartite edge-perfect graphs.

Perfectness of normal products of graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1978
Let θ(θ1) be the partition number (edge partition number) of a graph, let α be the stability number of G. Then G is perfect (θ1-perfect) if for every induced subgraph H of G, we have θ(H) = α(H) (θ1(H) = α(H)).We prove the following characterization ...

Various domain constants related to uniform perfectness [PDF]

open access: yesComplex Variables and Elliptic Equations, 1998
This is a survey article on domain constants related to uniform perfectness. We gather comparison theorems for various domain constants, most of which are more or less known or elementary but not stated quantitatively in the literature, and some are new ...

On perfectness of Grothendieck's pairing for the l-parts of component groups

open access: yesJournal Fur Die Reine Und Angewandte Mathematik, 2001
We prove the perfectness of Grothendieck's pairing on l-parts of component groups of an abelian variety and its dual when l is prime to the residue characteristic.

Maimonides on Perfecting Perfection

Harvard Theological Review, 2017
This article addresses two critical questions concerning Maimonides's views on human perfection at the end of hisGuide of the Perplexed. The first is: For those who have reached the highest category of perfection—intellectual perfection, apprehension of the divine, the divine science—what prescription does Maimonides offer for perfecting that ...
