Injectable Deep Eutectic Solvent‐Based Ionic Gel With Rapid Gelation and Broad Hemostatic Functionality

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An injectable deep eutectic solvent‐based ionic gel is developed for rapid in situ gelation and broad‐spectrum hemostatic functionality. The material combines high mechanical strength, strong tissue adhesion, and antibacterial activity, demonstrating potential as an advanced biofunctional gel for emergency bleeding control and wound care.

Model predictive control for current balancing in a four-phase buck converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Multiphase buck topology offers smaller ripple current and lower component ratings. This, however, compromises unbalanced output current between each phase of an inductor which leads to over-current and inductor saturation issues.

Porous Coatings by Vapor Sublimation and Deposition for Molecular Channeling and Filtration in an Interstitial Fluid Microfiltration Device

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A vapor‐based porous coating applied within nitinol tubes demonstrated complete suppression of cellular and tissue ingrowth, overcoming a major limitation of implantable interstitial fluid collection devices. Molecular channeling and diffusion are analyzed with probe molecules, showing reliable transport in vitro and in vivo. The coating also achieved >

A Rare Presentation of Crohn's Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Free peritoneal perforation is a rare complication of Crohn's disease with a report of only 100 cases in the literature. It needs an emergency exploration and an unaware general surgeon is confounded in intraoperative decision-making.

Advances in Conductive Nanomaterials for Cardiac Arrhythmia and Future Directions in Bioevaluation Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Conductive nanomaterials (CNMs) show promising potential in cardiac tissue regeneration and restoring cardiac rhythm as reported in several in vitro studies. This review article elaborates on the applications of CNMs in the treatment of myocardial infarction (MI) and MI‐induced cardiac arrhythmias, and it sheds light on the innovative approach of ...

Development and characterisation of injection moulded, all-polypropylene composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this work, all-polypropylene composites (all-PP composites) were manufactured by injection moulding. Prior to injection moulding, pre-impregnated pellets were prepared by a three-step process (filament winding, compression moulding and pelletizing).
