Self-Regulation: From Goal Orientation to Job Performance.
Journal of Applied Psychology, 2006The authors investigated the effects on job performance of 3 forms of goal orientation and 4 self-regulation (SR) tactics. In a longitudinal field study with salespeople, learning and performance-prove goal orientation predicted subsequent sales performance, whereas performance-avoid goal orientation negatively predicted sales performance.

Academic Goal Orientation and Cardiovascular Reactivity in a Performance Situation
Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, 2015The present study investigated whether students' academic goal orientation (learning goals, performance goals, work avoidance) and their individual competence beliefs (their academic self-concept) can predict motivation-related cardiovascular activation patterns in a demanding performance situation.

Automated inference of goal-oriented performance prediction functions
Proceedings of the 27th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering, 2012Understanding the dependency between performance metrics (such as response time) and software configuration or usage parameters is crucial in improving software quality. However, the size of most modern systems makes it nearly impossible to provide a complete performance model.

Test anxiety, perfectionism, goal orientation, and academic performance
Anxiety, Stress, & Coping, 2010Dimensions of perfectionism and goal orientation have been reported to have differential relationships with test anxiety. However, the degree of inter-relationship between different dimensions of perfectionism, the 2 × 2 model of goal orientations proposed by Elliot and McGregor, cognitive test anxiety, and academic performance indicators is not known.

Human Performance, 2004
This investigation examined the roles of action-state orientation and goal orientation in predicting task-specific motivation and performance in an academic context. Results showed that action-state orientation predicted performance independent of goal orientation, cognitive ability, self-efficacy and self-set goals.

Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, 2006
This study revisits the conceptualization and operationalization of salesperson goal orientation, a mid-level construct in the achievement motivation model. Goal orientation has, in recent sales studies, been conceptualized to be comprised of a learning and a performance goal orientation.

The role of goal orientation following performance feedback.
Journal of Applied Psychology, 2001This study examined the relationship of goal orientation and performance over a series of 2 challenging performance events. After providing performance feedback on the 1st event, the authors found that the relationship between a learning goal orientation and performance remained positive for the 2nd event, the relationship between a proving goal ...

Goal-Oriented Performance Analysis of Reusable Software Components
2006To establish software reuse successfully in the long run, it is crucial for providers of reusable components to continuously react on problems or future trends arising around their component. In practice, however, many providers of reusable components are not able to do so due to insufficient feedback and details from reusers.

Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, 2001
This research examined the effects of mastery vs. performance training goals and learning and performance goal orientation traits on multidimensional outcomes of training. Training outcomes included declarative knowledge, knowledge structure coherence, training performance, and self-efficacy.

A Performance Metric and Goal‐Setting Procedure for Deadline‐Oriented Processes
Production and Operations Management, 2013A performance metric and goal‐setting procedure is defined for an order fulfillment operation. In this operation, order requests arrive continuously, and filled orders are shipped at a specific time each day. The metric links the continuous operation of order fulfillment to the scheduled shipment times.
