Certainly a striking city in its day, Perga (also spelled Perge) today still is an impressive place to visit. Its theater, stadium, agora, towers, baths, and colonnaded streets give the visitor a good sense of what an ancient city was like. Perga is located in the ancient region of Pamphylia, approximately 9 miles east of Antalya.

The effect of bee bread (Perga) with chemotherapy on MDA-MB-231 cells
Bee bread (BB) is a bee product like propolis and honey. It is the main food for larvae and bees producing royal jelly in the hive. It also known as Perga. As with other bee products, it is increasingly popular due to its antioxidant properties. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of BB on MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells and the effects on ...

Since the read lengths of high throughput sequencing (HTS) technologies are short, de novo assembly which plays significant roles in many applications remains a great challenge. Most of the state-of-the-art approaches base on de Bruijn graph strategy and overlap-layout strategy.

Adaptive Molting Signal in a Gregarious Sawfly Larva, Perga affinis?
Journal of Insect Behavior, 2015For any arthropod, molting is a risky endeavor; it leaves an organism vulnerable until its new cuticle hardens. In some social organisms, the safest place for an individual to molt may be within their group. Here I present preliminary observations of a potential signaling behavior associated with molting in the gregarious larvae of the Australian ...

Leadership Behaviour in Sawfly Larvae Perga dorsalis (Hymenoptera: Pergidae)
Oikos, 1997Australian sawflies in the genus Perga have gregarious larvae which disperse to feed upon Eucalyptus foliage at night. To investigate possible polyethism in the larvae of P. dorsalis, we labelled individuals with oil paints and recorded their positions on consecutive nights.
